ACCEPTANCE OR NOT?

Today
my eyes are so bad
I must accept the truth
I'm going blind.

I hate it
don't want to know,
try to dodge
the inevitable.

But things
have lost their edge,
don't just blur
they dissolve.

Nothing,
absolutely nothing
can be done about it
apparently.

I;m supposed
to accept
my loss of sight
without complaint.

Not me,
I have no intention
of walking meekly
into darkness..

I;m screaming
and swearing and
kicking up the most
tremendous fuss,

asking why me?
